How to donate blood
"this is really a pain-less experience, if you can donate blood, you really should consider doing so."
How I did it: Applied online to donate. I was called back and we booked a time to donate and i also booked for a friend of mine.
on the day;
drank about a litre of water, had breakfast
went there, filled out a form, questions, weighing, measuring height, finger prick test (doesn't hurt, but the one thing everyone admits to being scared of), then they sat you down, looked at your blood pressure and then insert the needle. the process takes about an hour all up but the actual blood donating part takes 10 minutes. It really don't hurt, feels uncomfortable but no pain.
Lessons & tips: It's great to go with a bunch of friends.
Drink plenty of water and eat before you go.
BUT SERIOUSLY, DON'T look when they insert the needle!!!!!
