How I did it: Basically, I just let myself come to this point where I was like "I'm sick of this and I don't need it now. I don't need the stress and I don't need to focus on anyone else in such an important time in my life."

I mean, really, I have much better things to do.

Lessons & tips: Let love come to you, don't constantly search for it. That was a problem for me and now I'm in this situation where I thought I liked this guy but I don't really blah, blah, blah, you get the picture.

Start improving yourself and get the focus off of romantic relationships. Want to lose weight? Do it. Want to undergo a complete makeover? Sure. Do some community service to better know yourself? Brilliant. Anthing to keep your mind off it, do some things for YOURSELF. And you'll be quite happy single. :) And you never know who you'll meet in the process.
