How to do 10 terrific things on 10-10-10
"I created a list that incorporated what I was going to do anyway and added some new things that challenged me."
How I did it:
- I knew the day was coming. I mean, I had seen 7-7-07 and 8-8-08 come and go. (Wow, has it really been over two years since the Summer Olympics where the Chinese enjoyed the luck of 8 for their Opening Ceremony?)
- I'm not into numerology, but I just liked how I could make this a fun thing with 10-10-10, especially with this being a Sunday. It's also a holiday weekend for me, with Columbus Day being observed where I work. So I said, I'm going to enjoy the theme of 10.
- I ended up doing 10 terrific things, but not the same 10 that I set out to do. I ended up substituting a 10-minute challenge on the elliptical trainer at Level 10 (instead of making the vegetable broth). And Level 10 was a challenge. I've been doing Level 9 for quite some time.
- I got a very applicable suggestion from spyrunner to buy the book 10-10-10. I enjoyed seeing that comment. Thanks again, spyrunner.
Lessons & tips:
- Pay attention to the calendar.
- Be realistic, but don't be afraid to stretch yourself with your choices.
- Don't take it too seriously. Really.
Resources:
- Calendar to note the date.
- Pop culture sources (newspaper articles, television, internet) to remind you of others doing things like turning 10 years old on 10-10-10, getting married on an easy-to-remember date (9-9-09).
- 43T to write the list and get encouragement from fellow 43T'ers.
