How to build my own lightsaber
"Less technocraft, more arts and crafts, but it'll do."
How I did it: Haven't had the time or resources yet to put together a light up lightsaber, but I did want to try some of the moves I've seen online, so I painted and taped up an old broomstick and it turned out surprisingly cool.
In fact, I had to help my nephews make some, too, after they saw mine.
At least I have one to play with until I knuckle down and construct a more "authentic" one.
Lessons & tips: Silver Duct tape and Black Eletrical tape makes an easy handle. Blue duct tape (or whatever color you pick) can make a pretty nifty "blade".
To make one safer for the munchkins, we put foam pipe insulation around the broomstick handle first, then taped it up.
