How I did it: I took up a part-time job, saved up and set aside, found a used pair in my size for a relatively good deal, and ended up buying myself a wonderful belated college graduation present!
Lessons & tips: Save, save, save! And make sure that it's something you're very willing to spend at least $300 on.
