How to try knitting a cable pattern
"Nearly everything I want to learn can be found in a book. The challenge though, can be finding the right book."
How I did it: A few weeks ago I came to the conclusion that I needed to rely less on written patterns, in favor of charts. I flipped through my copy of The Knitting Stitch Bible (all charts) and found a cable pattern that didn't look too complicated.
Lessons & tips: Watch your tension and gauge, and remember that each fiber and blend has its own degree of give. Perhaps allow for a little extra ease when working the cable stitches themselves. Practice on excess yarn, not stash already intended for other projects. =)
