How to learn to drive
How I did it: In order to go for my driving test, I needed to complete 100 hours of recorded driving. 10 of those needed to be night hours. I did about 13 hours with my Dad before I moved out of home and across the city. Later, I commuted with Mum to get highway experience and I drove with her a little bit around town.
Most of my 100 hours were paid lessons. Yes they were expensive but they were worth it. I've never had a chance to pick up bad habits. I've probably spent about $1300. I had no other way living out on my own and as they say, when life gives you lemons you make lemonade.
Lessons & tips: If you are nervous, go and get a lesson or two from an instructor. Most instructors are encouraging parents who are teaching their kids to drive to have a lesson so they know what the current road-rules are.
