How to move out of my house
How I did it: I spent about 3 months looking for a place to live because it didn't look like i was going to get a dorm at school. After all that searching and phone calls, i finally found a house which was so much nicer than all the other apartments i had looked at. It was a little farther from school than i expected but i have a bus stop outside the house which takes me right there. I felt a little homesick after the third week because i think it had finally sunk in that i wasn't going back home. I've been home twice since i've lived here, and although i love it, i wouldn't feel comfortable living there because i have made this my home.
Lessons & tips: stay in contact with your parents. As much as you want to get away, you're going to miss them. i can guarantee you that. My cousin couldn't wait to get out of her house and moved to North Carolina. She got too homesick after 2 months and dropped out to come back home.
Resources: Boxes you can find at any grocery store or little health food store. Organize when you pack so you know where to put the boxes and aren't running all over the house. Also don't forget to change your address with you bank, credit card, and all that stuff. a change of mailing address only works for a year before they stop putting your change of address on it
