"Good, but I want to make another batch with different proportions."
How I did it: I found a recipe for cardamom and ginger infused vodka and, after buying a bunch of cardamom to make chai, thought I'd give it a whirl.
It's very simple.
- 20 green cardamom pods
- 1 knot of ginger
- 2 cups vodka
- Crush lightly the cardamom pods to open them slightly.
- Slice the ginger into 1" x 3" slices.
- Pour 2 cups of vodka into a clean jar.
- Add the cardamom and ginger and shake well.
- Put jar in a dark place and swirl once a day for 2 weeks.
- Strain and use. (Can be left for longer if you wish)

I liked it, but next time less cardamom and more ginger.
Here's a recipe I found that I think I'll use as a guide next time:
- 10 green cardamom pods
- 1 1/2 cup good-quality vodka
- 10 slices of fresh ginger, 1/4-inch thick
