"I read two books that changed everything!"

How I did it: The two books are Personality Plus by Florence Littauer and the second book is The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. If you will read, study and apply what you learn in these two books, you will not only become a better wife/ husband, but also a better parent, as there is a section on children in each book. Type back at me once you have tried this, I have not seen one failure yet. I love progress reports. Happy reading!!

Lessons & tips: Once you understand a person's personality and their Love language then you can communicate openly without having to walk on eggshells al the time.

Resources: There are a couple of other books that I could suggest here but I will save that for those of you who type back at me. Consider those a bonus.

I read Gary Chapman’s book around 8 years ago. At the time I was having marital problems. I had never considered that the problems we were having were related to our different ways of feeling loved. I changed what I was doing and so did he. We just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. Things are great now.

I haven’t heard of Personality Plus but I will check it out. Another good book is the Keirsey Temperament sorter. I read that shortly after we met. It helped us realize that our personality types are totally opposite but not what to do about it. Still it was helpful.

The Love Dare is referenced throughout the entire movie "Fireproof" I hope you get a chance to see it with your husband. Make sure you have tissues ready, it'll make your eyes sweat.

I haven’t read the first book you recommended but I did read the 5 love languages, also I read Love is a Decision by Gary Smalley and whenever I am having One of Those Days with my husband, I remember what I learned from these books. Kudos to you!
