How to see Nine Inch Nails in concert
How I did it: I wanted to go see Nine Inch Nails back in 1999 when A Perfect Circle was opening for them, but that didn't happen since I was a minor and couldn't get to the show in Philly. At that point, I made it one of my goals to see Trent before one of us died, and back then it looked like it was going to be him before me.
I ended up missing a few more shows due to my military schedule and every time it felt like I had missed my last opportunity.
After checking TicketMaster to no avail, I went on nin.com and found out they were having several shows that were being sold through the venues only. I quickly found that Charlottesville, VA was the closest I could get to where I live and bought a ticket and a parking pass. No conferring with friends or family, no waiting to see what was going on at work, just knew I would go no matter what.
I was so happy that I went and ended up chatting with several people. It was an amazing experience and I'd love to do it again with some friends. That concert was what church should feel like.
Lessons & tips: Always look on nin.com for schedules and tickets first. And go no matter what you have to do. There was a guy I met at the show who was on his 25th live performance, he just travelled and kept on chasing Trent.
