How to finally take a decent photo for my license by Bedhead2

How I did it: I prepared ahead. I didn't take the photo first thing in the morning when my eyes look small. I learned from the mistakes I have made in every other photo I have ever had taken at the DMV. I didn't try too hard to look good (i.e. too much make up, too much smiling-or not enough) but I did try.
I tried to remain in a good mood throughout the process and kept a partial smile on my face. This way, when it came time to take the photo, I was kind of, sort of, already smiling. The guy did it in just one take.

Lessons & tips: *Brush your hair
*Don't go first thing in the morning
*Don't try to hard to smile for the photo, juts try to actually be happy and that will show.
*Wear make-up, but not too much.

Resources: *A boyfriend who reminded me to prepare ahead so that it would turn out well.
*Some make up and a hair brush
*Time, so that I wasn't rushed.

i've only ever had 1 DMV photo...

it’s followed me since i took it for my permit at age 15! This DL doesn’t expire til I’m 29, I think…I may never get a new photo!

That's terrible!

My goodness they make those things last a long time where you live.
My new DL is only good for 5 more years (or 6, I can’t remember).

it’s expired twice already, once at 19 and once at 24, but they just mail me a new one with the same picture…

Several people, when checking my license have said to me, “You look just like your picture.”

The direct answer to your question is: yes, I look like my drivers license picture.

My intended point was that since drivers license pictures are usually pretty horrible, to say that someone looks like the picture on their license could normally be taken as an insult.

That was too long of a way to go for a quick chuckle, wasn’t it?
