Sorry to hear the ill effects you had. My first one went great. The second time around, I was unable to get myself to drink the lemonade. I’m on day 2 of round 3 now.
How to master cleanse
How I did it: During the time I was on the cleanse, I was living 3.5 miles from town and biking everywhere. Unlike many people whose stories I've read, I didn't become more energetic as the week progressed--rather, it became more and more difficult just to get around. The hill I had to climb to leave my house went slower each day. At the end of the fifth day, halfway through my intended 10-day cleanse, decided to give it two more days, and if at the end of the week I didn't feel better, I'd break the fast.
It continued to get worse. The 'lemonade', which at first was quite satisfying, began to do nearly nothing for me. I got headaches. I was on the verge of not functioning when I broke fast with a vegetable smoothie and a green salad. That went down fine, but I think I made a grave error in making the homemade pasta. Maybe it was something else. In any case, I was sick for a month. Horrible intestinal cramps and gas, constipation--which normally never happens to me--alternating with the opposite problem, and related aches and pains. Even eating lots of yoghurt and lacto-fermented sauerkraut, and drinking kombucha and kefir, It took weeks to clear myself out again.
Never again will I mess with my intestinal flora so.
