How to start postcrossing by Row mance

"worthwhile, for someone as sentimental as myself"

How I did it: I came across the website, and liked the idea.

I'm all for bringing back good old-fashioned letter writing.
I also felt excited at the prospect of sending something abroad to a complete stranger. I like anonymity and the company of strangers, so it looked like an enjoyable thing to do.
I was thrilled to see that my postcard had got from the UK all the way to the USA! I was a bit unsure to whether I'd correctly stamped and addressed the postcard. 
This has given me the confidence to send more letters/postcards abroad!
I also had a lovely message from the person I sent the postcard to, thanking me and welcoming to postcrossing! Wonderful! :)

  • Reading what had been written by the person I was sending the postcard to gave me ideas as what to write. 
  • Reading the FAQ about ideas also helped me out. Worth having a look at for ideas.
