How to refine my GTD/ Hipster PDA System
"A long, annoying road. But I'm glad I figured it out."
How I did it: I've been using the GTD system in one form or another for years and years now, but I've always wavered between paper and a web-based solution.
Finally found a web-based tool I like... SimpleGTD. I used the classic Hipster PDA when I was running around more, but now that I'm in front of a computer or holding a smartphone most of the time this is just easier.
Plus, it's low-tech enough to not be distracting.
Lessons & tips: Keep your ears pricked for new ways to do it, but don't spend too much time test-driving individual tools. It's easy for "productivity" to become its own ironic time sink.
With GTD, either it works for you or it doesn't, and what works for your boss or your best friend may not jive with your brain.
If something worked for a while and then fell apart, figuring out why it broke instead of just looking for something else will save you a lot of time and heartache.
Resources: I heard about it from Leo Babauta, on his Zen To Done post.
