How to knit a scarf
"I found knitting a good way to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and I made a nice scarf to wear."
How I did it: I took a knitting 101 class at a local shop in town to learn knitting, purling, cabling, and basic knitting terminology. The final project was a sampler scarf that consisted of different pattern squares.
Lessons & tips: I'd recommend practicing knitting and purling on simple washcloths to get the techniques down. A sampler scarf is a great way to show off different patterns and to see which ones you like to make a future scarf of just one or more of your favorite patterns.
