How to write my first draft of my screenplay
"Very fulfilling to get your ideas out infront of you. "
How I did it: warning: it took me years in the making of writing but within the last 8 months since ive had my macbook pro that i harnessed my energy and got things moving. I moved from paper to electronic writing which felt like it gave me purpose. i take my laptop with me everywhere. i may leave my purse behind to travel light if i am going to do something but i keep my comp with me. having that reminder pushed me as it was a physical thing instead of having my writing tablet in my backback thats most times in the trunk of my car lol
Procrastination and distraction were my biggest obstacles. To conquer procrastination i put up reminders to just write. Dont even put restrictions of to write everyday or anything on yourself. it is counter productive if you dont do it then you feel bad that you didnt do it and then you feel bad for feeling bad and etc. its a bad cycle.
to conquer distraction i used very barebones software omniwriter. put your headphones on and just type. then use storyist to shape & format what you wrote. it was a big help. dont worry about if its going to be read outside of you or your circle. if you worry about where its going then you wont get to where you wanna be. Just be present in your process.
Resources: Storyist, FD, Omniwriter for mac.
