How to increase my awareness but not to the point of obsession
"There's a fine line between the two, and mood will change how far I am from that line on a daily basis; acceptance of variability is key."
How I did it: A little therapy, a lot of thinking and talking. I found the most important thing was to not be embarrassed about my idiosyncrasies - we all have them, and it's much easier to face and recognize all parts of one's self if there's no fear of what one might find.
Accepting myself and the things I learn about myself has also let me find more satisfaction in my relationship. I don't question my bf's decision to be with me, and I don't fear what will happen if things don't work out in the end.
This goal is an approach to life that I expect I'll be working on for a long time. I expect it to become more and more natural as time goes on, but who knows if I'll ever "compete" it? 3 years and counting!
