How to open the next Children's Library in Nepal & Go on a Trek in the Everest Region ~ by h.g. ~happiness

"Opening the Second Children's Library in Saranpur, Chitwan, Nepal was a beautifully challenging & extremely rewarding experience! "

How I did it: After opening the first Children's Library in Bandipur, Nepal in 2009, my friends and I knew we wanted to continue this mission to bring more libraries to the children in Nepal ~ so we created a nonprofit called Namaste Nepal - Helping Himalayan Children. www.namastenepal.org


Through that process then, we began to share the story of our mission and many people began to join us on this mission  ♥

Many friends from 43T stepped up to help bring awareness and raise funds so we could build the next children's library in Nepal. Our very own metafora flew from Spain to run her first marathon for our organization & dragonfly flew from San Diego to Canada to run her first marathon for NNHHC. Then, our very own phensy & restless walked across the UK from Coast to Coast to raise funds for library # 3 which will be coming in Dec. 2011 (there's a goal listed if you are interested in joining us on that mission!)

So, with the help of many friends, family, and hard butt kicking fundraising ~ we raised enough funds to build the second Children's Library in Saranpur, Chitwan, Nepal. It did take a lot of help from our friends in Nepal as well, without our President of NNHHC there, we would not have been able to organize it all ♥

Lessons & tips: Follow your Dreams ~  your dreams may be linked to helping others find their dreams ♥ That has been true for me ~ and I really love it.

It's a lot of hard and lonely work at times and if you decide to try to accomplish something like this be patient with yourself & others. Always keep your focus, be true to your mission and never give up. Accept help and support from others ~ collaboration is imperative.

I agree… the gift of books, literacy, and the freedom and ability to have access to all of that is to give the gift of imagination ~

I told the people of the village….

“If you can dream it, you can achieve it” “And libraries help people dream because they open new worlds to people”

I’m not sure it got translated properly, or even if they could understand what I said, but the intention was/is there ~ and all of our earnest well wishes are there with the children and the villagers in Nepal.
