How I did it: I was able to acomplish this before getting a job. I've always saved and spent my money very carefully. The money included in this savings is largely from birthday gifts over the years. I don't spend very much money, either, because I don't have to support myself and only use my money for extras, like clothes that I don't need, or ice cream treats on vacations, etc. My parents raised us to be conscious of money, and overall, we're fairly frugal. Still, doing this was an accomplishment for me, and I've passed on buying things that I would have liked to have in order to complete my goal. So I am proud of myself for sticking ith it.
