How I did it: I took Japanese as my foreign language for this semester. I just started my first lesson on hiragana and some simple greeting and expressions.

I gonna memorize the 46 characters of basic hiragana first.

paste a basic hiragana chart somewhere you can see very often


don't stress yourself but try to have fun while learning. ^^


speak Japanese to your friends who are also learning Japanese too~ ^^


Listen to Japanese songs and Japanese drama and try to catch the meaning =)

Yes, Japanese can be fun

It’s been some time since you posted this. I imagine you’ve progressed quite a bit. I’m sure you already realize this, but in your photo where you wrote “ganbatte kudasai” in hiragana, it would help to add a small “tsu” between the “ba” and the “te” to give it the double “t” sound. Also, though an “m” can’t stand alone in hiragana, it often does in romaji because it rolls off the tongue easier, so we see it often spelled “gambatte”, as with Nihombashi and Gaiemmae. Hope you can make it to Japan someday.
