How I did it: After you have had your heart broken a time or two, it is really hard to trust someone again and quit making comparisons to "the way things were" and "how they could be in the future w/mr. perfect".  If you broke up with someone or were cheated on, there was probably a reason this happened.  Nobody is perfect and people deserve a second chance, and maybe even a third chance.  But you have to look out for yourself first.  I don't think there is a thing as having too many friends.  But if you are in a relationship, you need to be able to trust your significant other.  A romantic relationship without trust is worse than a healthy platonic friendship with a member of the opposite sex (in my opinion).  I am pretty shy and quiet until you get to know me, but I am friendly to almost everyone. Sometimes you just need to let down your guard while still using common sense and being safe about your decisions!!
