How to quit eating sugar
How I did it: For the first week:
I did not eat anything with sugar; regular or artificial. No honey, no maple syrup, no molasses, no fruit or fruit juices. Absolutely nothing with sugar or sweeteners, or even naturally sweet. I did not eat anything with sugar in the ingredients like sauces and breads. I made my own sauces and ate breads free of sugar. It was really a hard thing to do, and I felt tired a lot!
week 2:
I am eating sugars in things that are not sweet. Again, bread and sauces, soups, etc. I also started eating limited amounts of fruits . It is a lot more freedom. I am still not eating anything sweet/sweetened. No sugar in my coffee, no sweet pastries or candy. I miss ice cream, but that is ok. I just need to kick to sugar fix, then I can occasionally indulge in those kinds of foods.
See blog for updates on the sugar war!
Lessons & tips: I would suggest starting slowly. Weeding out sugars slowly, then eliminating completely. It was really tough going cold turkey. I struggled and was always thinking about it.
Resources: I just read around on the internet at different ways people weeded out sugars in their diet. I figured I could go awhile without it, I have plenty of extra weight I could take from! :)
