How to see a bear in the wild
"It was very thrilling!"
How I did it: I kept looking when I drove in the country. I took all the routes where bear had been sighted when possible. I never gave up. After my first sighting (he ran up a tree) someone told me to watch the fence lines along woods and sure enough--we saw a yearling running towards the fence. Spring is the best time but be careful--black bears mostly attack when they are hungry and they have just had a long winter fast. . .
Lessons & tips: Watch the fence line in fields surrounded by woods.
Look in the spring.
Take back country roads whenever possible
Watch houses with bird feeders in the yard.
Dusk is a good time to find bears out.
Never feed bears, ever.
Resources: A car
