How to keep a cash log for a month
How I did it: I opened up an Excel spread sheet and made a row for every day of the month. Then I made three columns: cash, credit, and debit. At the end of every day, I typed up every penny I spent. This was a smart way to see where all of my money was going.
Lessons & tips: Try this. If only once and only for the month. You just might surprise yourself.

While simple on it’s surface, this seems simple but it’s an excellent way to mind your money. I too was one of those that would get to Monday or Tuesday and wonder where all of my money had gone… When you take into account every soda you buy, every candy bar, every meal eaten out, every stupid little thing off the rack by the counter, it all starts to add up. I was writing mine on a piece of paper that I would keep in my wallet, but using excel is an awesome idea, so thank you.

I tried logging everything on paper but paper is too tempting to draw on, so it didn’t work out :)
Thank you for the comment!
