How to cook healthy tasty food
How I did it: I moved to a student house at university so had to fend for myself!
I think most students partake in plenty unhealthy habits as it is, so a good diet is very important.
When I have too much junk food, I feel terrible, tired, moody, bloated unable to concentrate. So I had no intention of living off take-aways and ready-meals!
Luckily, my housemates were in the same boat as me. Now we cook dinner together most nights, from fresh ingredients. We pack in as many veg as possible and and snack on all sorts of fruit, with carrot and hummous as our favourite treat! Got to get the 5-a-day in!
We use cook books sometimes but usually just throw all the ingredients together and see what happens. Herbs and spices are a must have!
It really helps to cook and eat with other people, it stops you being lazy and just popping a korma in the microwave, and you can share ideas and expertise on different recipes.
