How to write a wordpress plugin
How I did it: Had a good reason to make one, read through the instructions, double-checked, then installed it on multiple sites to triple-check. I chose to distribute through wordpress.org, and that's done pretty well.
Lessons & tips: If you don't know SVN, just get the easiest SVN program you can find. For Windows, I used TortoiseSVN. Oh! And once you finish, it doesn't hurt to advertise:
