How to dream lucidly
How I did it: I was really surprised that I managed to dream lucidly on my first try! I used the Wake-Induced method by checking the time before I went to bed and then setting an alarm to go off 4 or 5 hours later. When I woke up to my alarm, I shut it off then reminded myself about why I was awake before falling back asleep so I could maintain a little bit of consciousness. I went back into my dream and immediately realized what was going on. I reminded myself not to panic or get too excited (that will wake you up) and then rubbed my hands together to make the lucidity stronger. I lost control of the dream after what felt like about 5 minutes because I got distracted and just forgot that I was dreaming but it was still a very fun experience and I am definitely going to try it again!
Lessons & tips: It really helps if you decide what you want to try doing in your dream before you fall asleep so that you have some goals in mind and you don't get distracted like I did. Write down your plans and look back at them regularly so that you don't forget them too. And one more thing, if you want to change something about the dream (like change your location or make someone or something appear) just close your eyes and say "when I open my eyes, (blank) will be here," or "when I open my eyes, I will be (blank)."
