How to upgrade my business website
"I stood back and took a hard look at what was working and what wasn't, then pared my message down to the things that worked best."
How I did it: First, I spent some time looking at my stats and my calendar, to see what was "producing" and what seemed to be getting in the way. I took my time with that part of the work.
Then I took a very hard look at my site. It was too wordy and it was not attractive. I pared the words down to about 20% of the original. I added graphics.
Then I tweeted about the update, to attract clients old and new to the revised website!
Lessons & tips:
- With verbiage, less is almost always better.
- Creative Commons is a wonderful source for free or affordable graphics which I can use with integrity.
