How to stay in the ice hotel by travelmickey

"I spent the night in one of the Ice Hotel's cold rooms, tucked up in a double sleeping bag with my husband."

How I did it: My parents booked my husband and I a night at the Ice Hotel for our wedding present, which was a bit more memorable than a toaster...

We flew to Kittila in Finland, transfered to a town called Karasuendo in northern Sweden, took a bus to Kiruna and a taxi to Jukkasjärvi; had lunch at the amazing Ice Hotel restaurant, drank vodka in the Ice Bar and looked at the stunning art suites and ice sculptures, before calling it a night.

Lessons & tips: Book in advance, wear thermals, and go for a wee before you jump into your sleeping bag for the night.
