How I did it: I read to my boys from the time they were babies on. I wasn't always great at doing it every night but I did my best. Once my oldest learned to read he started reading to my youngest as his reading homework each night. It was the sweetest thing to have the boys share their love of reading and spend that time together. I also think this helped make my oldest son so much better at reading out loud. Now both boys are old enough to read their own books each night, which they do. It is a wonderful thing to have them love going to the bookstore almost as much as I do but it is bittersweet given how quickly they are growing up. I am taking it off of my list because this is to instilled in them that they don't have to be told, they just grab a book when they get into bed each night and read for 30 minutes before they turn the lights out. I am so glad I did this!!
