How to lose 15 lbs
How I did it: My husband and I have eliminated the junk food from the house, you can't eat whats not there! I bought My Fitness coach for Wii, and Wii fit plus with the balance board. I hated exercising but now I find it pumps me up afterwards. I also lift light weights. I was counting calories, but honestly it was making me insane. I cut back calories too far, which made me so hungry I couldn't even sleep, and I was hungry even after eating. Now I only eat when hungry, lots of veggies in our meals but the food has to taste good. A food can be good for you but if you hate it what's the point?!
I still have 90+ lbs to go, so this is a drop in the bucket...but hey, thats how buckets get filled, one drop at a time!
Lessons & tips: Within these 45 days I've eaten at a nice restaurant for valentine's day, we've ordered pizza hut, and I've had some cake. If you're going to have something like pizza, pair it with something good for you like a big romaine salad. The weeks I've had it I've still lost weight. If you're feeling deprived, you're going to say screw it and give up. Plateaus ARE going to happen. When it happens, I get off the scale. Try a new exercise you enjoy. Cutting back your calories even farther can make the plateau worse, so unless you're eating junk, I would say just wait it out!
Resources: Kraft light parmesan tastes just as good as the full fat stuff. Same goes for the fat free rancher's choice. Even my "fat free tastes like crap" husband changed his mind. Lean ground turkey and chicken is (generally) lower fat than beef, and can be substituted wherever ground beef is used. Fajitas are really filling and a great way to get lots of veggies.
