How I did it: I passed my second driver's test by rereading the DMV manual and studying what I did wrong on the last one. I still made mistakes, but not the same mistakes and not nearly as many. The driver's test can be very simple if you let it be. Don't aim to pass on your first try; it costs nothing to do it again and you'll be less nervous and more familiar with the course on your second or even third go.
Otherwise, the rest of this journey just requires a lot of waiting around and filling out forms.
Lessons & tips: Read all of the materials provided for you on your local DMV website. It's important. Learn proper signaling and signage. Know what you need to do and what you need to bring.
