How I did it: 1. I got rid of the "negative" people in my life. (Such as the guys who made me feel bad about myself)
2. I threw myself into school, work, and my hobbies to keep my mind and hands busy.
3. When I felt myself getting sad, I'd listen to my favorite songs, since music has always been therapeutic for me.
4. I started writing in my journal regularly. Getting my thoughts out on paper helped me reflect on what I want and don't want in my life. I was able to act accordingly, and now I have something to look back on.
5. I asked myself "Who the hell ARE these people really and why do I give a crap about what they think about me?" This was the hardest thing for me to think and believe, but once you're able to, you really feel free from doubt and insecurity.
