"Controlled weight loss success is EMPOWERING. Once you realize that you can do it, there's nothing to stop you."
How I did it: As part of a new wellness regime through Simply For Life, I am adjusting my diet and understanding my poor eating habits and food choices. Education and moderation is important in the journey, but attitude and mental fortitude is the key to success.
Find a motivational partner to hold you accountable for your goals. My wellness councelor, Mike, at Simply For Life, has been wonderful.
Don't sweat the small slip ups - as long as they are not frequent, you'll rebound. Don't sweat stagnation - if your weight doesn't change, watch your body shape. If it plateaus for too long, then talk to a counciellor and find out what the problem is.
KEEP A FOOD JOURNAL! If you know what's going in, you can identify the problem foods...and some may surprise the heck out of you.
Lessons & tips:
Conquer the head game. Weight loss is all about your attitude. If you give up, there's nothing the program can do for you. NEVER GIVE UP THE HEAD GAME.
Engage family and friends - they'll help you celebrate the success and pick you up when you stumble. I post my progress - good, bad or neutral - on Facebook after my weekly weigh ins.
