How to spend the night at Waverly Hills
How I did it: When we frist got there our tour guide told us a bunch of creepy stories about shadow people, the crawler, little girl ghosts, and an angry cursing spirit. Once we ventured the place on our own, my initial scare factor started to fade. I won't deny there was a heavy sad feeling over the place. Or that I wouldn't dare walk down a dark long hallway alone. But we didn't see or hear anything we couldn't explain.
There were a lot of orignal things left behind. The light fixture in the operating room, tile on the walls of the cooler, and showers. The oven in the kitchen, and the lockers in the locker room. The morgue had the original slabs. There were still bathtubs and toilets. And though taken down and set aside, there was a swing set on the roof of the building where the childrens playground had been. That was all really fun to see.
We took a bunch of pictures but didn't catch more then your ushual orbs. I got one thing on the thrid floor that i really can't explain. And the room with the angry spirit on the first floor, i couldn't get my camera to work.
My roommate got an app on her phone that the guide showed us where you ask questions and get one word answers from the paranormal energy in the room. We asked for a name and got "kitty.....kim" and in the operation room we got "produce....death." Outside during a smoke break she got "trouble" then a car alarm went off! But there were words that were random and pointless too like "tire...driving....teaching.....list". It was just a phone app, but it was so much fun.
Lessons & tips: If you have any interest in history or ghost hunting I would suggest waverly hills. It's expensive but the money goes to restoring the building. They plan on turning it into a five star hotel. When you explore it you can tell they're making some progress in restoring it. You can make reservations on their home site waverlyhills.com for tours, or night stays.
Resources: I had been trying to get a group together myself for the past two years. It's difficult because it's 100 bucks a person for ten people, and 1,000 bucks for a nights stay regardless if you get the ten people or not. Lucky though, i ended up getting to join an already set group.
