How I did it: Try this from instructables.com

I"m in no way affiliated and it's free.  It helped me a lot.  The folding is a bit tricky at first, especially folding it in thirds, but you can keep trying without altering the effects since it's before you cut.  Use sharp scissors.

Lessons & tips: the best ones were when I didn't try to plan a design, just cut randomly.
