How I did it: Instead of trying to fight the urge, I just decided I would deal with it.  I did not want to be the type of person with a scratching problem, so each day I set out to simply go from morning until night without doing it.  Sometimes it would happen instinctively at night, but the less I did this during the day, the less it happened at night.
