Hazel MSt Women's Studies.
By gap year I mean not going directly to a masters course after your final year of university. What is ‘Grade 11’? I’m doing a masters, not an undergraduate degree.
How I did it: I was determined in my final year of uni to get a 1st class degree. I succeeded. I thought it had opened doors for me, and I was right. I applied in January for an MSt in Literature but was recommended for the Women's Studies course instead. I went for it, and I got it. I worked hard at university, I threw myself into volunteering, and I outlined exactly what I wanted to do in my personal statement. That's what you need to do this.
Lessons & tips: Know what you need to get together for the application and do it. Also, I would suggest doing this on your gap year rather than your final year. It's just easier, and you've got more time to build up your grades and your CV.
