"Exhausting, expensive, time consuming but so worth it!!"
How I did it: I've had my provisional license for three years but for the first two and a half years I had very few driving lessons as I couldn't commit to the time or the cost. But in October 2010, I decided enough was enough and I started driving lessons again and actually kept having them. At first it was just once a week but then I started having them twice a week and then managed to pass! At first I was really really nervous, I would physically shake on lessons and struggled to keep control of the car/myself - but I think this is NORMAL. If you are a nervous driver, just try and tell yourself that the instructor is highly trained and WON'T let anything happen to you or the car, and that they will always be able to take control of the car if needed. And if you get really really REALLY nervous, just tell yourself it is only an hour of torture!! It definately comes with practice!
If I can learn to drive, anyone can!
Good luck everyone!!
Lessons & tips: Take your time to get a feel for the car and to get used to it, once you have done that it is a doddle! And don't forget that every driver has been a learner at some point, and don't be intimidated, you have as much right to use the roads as other road users!
