How I did it: I was looking forward to being single for a while and concentrating on studying, when bam there he was. I was just friends with him for a few months and then realised he was really special and we started a relationship. I tried really hard in the beginning to not be needy and clingy, give him lots of space but still let him know that I was thinking of him. 7 years on, still very much in love.

Lessons & tips: Don't try too hard, be yourself.
