How to drink more water, move more, chew more, eat less
"Changing a habit happens every day. You get used to it and then get better at it"
How I did it: I started noticing that whenever I ate, I didn't really enjoy food. I could barely taste it even if I ate a lot. Slowly, I resolved to take smaller bites in smaller portions and aim to taste the food I am eating.
Moving more wasn't all that difficult because I walk a lot around the city. But to add extra oomph, I started a short exercise routine, which I could keep on doing even when I'm really busy. I started it during the summer so I could get used to it.
Drinking water became easier once I realized that sometimes I'm actually just thirsty and not really hungry. And that water is incredibly refreshing and I started appreciating that more.
Lessons & tips:
I won't say that I've lost so much weight, but changing your lifestyle little by little, you get there. I could say this is the first time I am really losing weight without any help from medications. I could have changed these habits sooner, but I had to learn that no shortcuts could lead to what I want, which is a permanently healthy weight.
