How to stop caring what other people think of me
How I did it: After not having a pleasurable middle school experience, I started fresh in 9th grade at a new school. At first I was a people pleaser, I tried all kinds of different thing to make friends. It didn't really work though, I was too eager and too quick to trust people. I used to shape my personality to fit those around me, but I slowly found that by being myself I made more friends with ease.
Lessons & tips: Not everyone is going to like you. You just can't make everyone like you and that's okay. You don't have to like everyone either. All that matters is if you like you. Being well liked is important to a lot of people, and I think the key to being well liked is just respecting others and who they are so they in turn will respect you and who you are. And if they don't, they're just immature, or jealous. Self assurance is a beautiful thing, and it is possible for everyone.
Resources: Going to a small private school, following my dreams and my gut, taking lots of classes in things that I am interested in
