How to get a pen & paper address book
"I wanted a hard copy of my address book in case my phone was ever lost or irreparably damaged, and I also wanted to be able to keep more extensive notes on my contacts. So I made my own!"
How I did it:
I couldn't find an address book that I liked anywhere... and while what I ended up with was not visually appealing, it's customized to my needs. I bought a plain half-sheet binder and five dividers, designed the pages I wanted, and used the copier and hole puncher at work to make them fit. For friends, penpals & close family I have a whole half-sheet for notes on their family, friends, hobbies, likes & dislikes, and any additional notes. For business directory and other contacts I have a generic design that has four slots to a page. I used some of these in every section for the friends & family that are more acquaintances and of course for business contacts & resources.
If I could do it again (and I might someday) I would have a space for notes for ALL contacts and a space for birthdays/anniversaries on all my friends & family. Oh well, live & learn.
