"It was liberating to have all of my hair chopped off for a good cause."
How I did it:
- Grew my hair out for approximately two years.
- Decided that since I had no idea how I wanted to cut it, I was just going to donate it to Locks of Love.
- Once it grew out, I went to my hair stylist and said "chop it off!".
- 10" minimum, dry, in a ponytail, etc.
- Cut and donated my hair to Locks of Love at the same time that I was training for a century to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I used cutting my hair off as another motivator to get people to donate to the cause.
Lessons & tips: Read through the Locks of Love requirements before committing to the hair cut. It would be tragic to have put so much effort into growing your hair out for this donation, only to find that you accidentally had it cut 1" shy of the requirement, or had it bleached beforehand (don't do that).
