"I'm sorry, were you insulting Canada? I couldn't hear you over my healthcare benefits."
How I did it:
Educating yourself is not only a life long pursuit but it eases common ailments before they become a condition.
I'll admit that although my suffering is fairly common place, the solutions I put into practice seem almost nil to forgotten.
Empower yourself with actively investing in basic solutions. If nothing else, it passes the time while healing.
Lessons & tips: Keep Hydrated
It might seem like an old wives tale for curing all but our physicality is reliant on water and it's ability to remove toxins.
Add flavor as often as possible but drink water frequently. Currently, the recommended daily intake (or RDI) of water is 3.7 litres/day.
BONUS: vitamin K, found in celery, cornsilk and parsley, are required to remove toxins in the body.
Balanced Diet
Good luck getting back to your usual chipper self by eating fruits and vegetables. Diet therapy consulted by a specialist could make all the difference between how often, how much and even how well pain relief is needed. Each biological system is dependent on the chemical reaction between stored nutrients in the body. Eat well, feel better sooner.
Sleep and Stress Reduction
Histamine levels increase during sleep, when the body does the most repairs, as it increases the permeability of cell walls, there by increasing air and nutrient allocation.
Stress on the other hand, decreases the productivity of cellular replenishment by redirecting the body to a fight or flight response, which also builds up its own type of toxins. Unlike a muscle, the more stressed you get the more physically exhausting the experience.
BONUS: Take a power nap as needed or meditate while waiting.
Fitness
If you take a moment to realize overall that when a person stays in the same posture for hours at a time, eventually they will fidget. Deliberate acts of motion will maximize this natural response. Take five minutes every so often and stretch out those muscles. While at the computer, your waistline is the most idle = office butt.
Laughter
Even if you have to force it by laughing in spite of pain, laughter is pain reducing. When a person laughs, pain receptors are disrupted. And being able to make yourself laugh when needed is a skill indeed.
