How I did it: I just typed a line of the lyrics that I knew into Yahoo! Search and found the song. I've also done it in the past by using Sing365.com. The key is to try and remember correctly a line of the song that is distinctive enough to work. So if the chorus is "Yeah, yeah, yeah" or something that will bring up a million results, you may be out of luck.

Lessons & tips: First, try going to Sing365.com. If that doesn’t help, you’d be surprised how many songs you can locate just by typing in one line from a song into Google or Yahoo Search. The catch is that what you type has to be distinctive enough to not bring up a million entries. So if you are hearing a song that you like but can’t recognize, just train

yourself to remember correctly one unique line from the song instead of

something generic.
