How to volunteer at a soup kitchen
"Probably the most rewarding thing I've ever done."
How I did it: I got in touch with the manager of The Wellspring soup kitchen in Stockport and volunteered my services to cook and serve the members :) I arranged for myself and my friends to all go down for 4 hours at lunch to help out.
Lessons & tips: Don't be afraid to get stuck in and don't procrastinate enquiring about volunteering as most soup kitchens are always more than happy to take on new workers!
Also, If you are under 18 you will most likely need to go with a responsible adult, preferably a parent, to go with you and supervise you at all times. I went with my mum as I am only 14.
