How to go on the cruise w/o incurring more debt!
How I did it: This is not a really how I did it as much as a retorspective on lessons learned on how to do it in the future. Bascially, save consistently over the time period you have, don't wait until the last minute. A stitch in time saves nine.
Lessons & tips: 1. Up front figure up how much money you need, then add a cushion of maybe 15-20% for forgotten items.2. Set up an agressive & automated savings plan. If you have a year or 6 months, figure out how much you need to save and set up an automated transfer to your savings account. You may have to cut out some of your daily indulgences or cut your lifestyle prior to the trip so that you can save as much as possible.3. if you want/need new warddrobe items buy them a little at a time, don't wait until the week before.4. Get plane tickets as far in advance as possible. the sooner, the cheaper. Check into insurance options if you are afraid of having to back out at the last minute.
