How to be happy with myself
How I did it: There are things you can learn to accept, and things you learn to change. Perception is the secret to unlocking happiness. In pure essence, I am very similar to who I was many years ago. I have similar hobbies and similar interests. However, with accepting myself I have learned to enjoy life more. I've also taken on new challenges and grown from those challenge. This has shown me my inner-strength and shown me that I can conquer what I put my mind to. I'm much happier now.
And realistically, this is a life-long goal. We all have the opportunity for infinite growth.
Lessons & tips: Understand that nobody is perfect. Don't dwell on what you lack. Be thankful for what you have. Play on your strengths, and look for ways to improve upon yourself. Turn your weaknesses into positive avenues for growing. Try doing new (and sometimes scary) activities with friends. You might surprise yourself with how brave you are.
Resources: I spend a lot of time journaling and writing and seeing a counselor helps alot. Some of the movies I've seen lately also carry uplifting and positive messages.
